ronald mcdonald was born into a family of clowns. he struggles with depression and he got to a really low point during his final years of education. after graduating and becoming a working adult he decided to get help and put his life back together. he got medication from a psychiatrist and he goes to therapy weekly and he becomes a clown full time because he can now appreciate his work of bringing smiles to people. he finds immense joy in making other people happy and his job contributes overwhelmingly to his will to live when before it used to be a burden and it physically pained him to hand out fake smiles even though he was so sad and empty inside. now he's just focusing on his job and his mental wellbeing.
so thats my headcanon for ronald mcdonald thanks. also he's ace in this.
